Prof. Auezhan Amanov, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sun Moon University, Korea

Prof. Auezhan Amanov is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sun Moon University, Korea. Prof. Amanov received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Sun Moon University in 2011. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Tokyo University of Science (Japan) from 2012 to 2014. After successful completion of his 2-year postdoc fellowship, he was a visiting professor at Doshisha University (Japan) before joining Sun Moon University in 2014. He is a member of STLE, TMS, ASM and AIST societies (USA). He got the Best Paper Awards at SMT28 in Tampere, Finland and NanoToday 2015” in Dubai, UAE in 2014 and 2015, respectively. He has published over 80 papers in various international journals. He also served as a guest editor for a special issue “Tribological Behavior of Materials by Surface Engineering”. His recent research interest focuses on thermal-mechanical surface modification of metallic materials including 3D printed metallic materials, thin Si wafers, etc. through the application of severe plastic deformation (SPD) that refines coarse grains into nano-sized grains.
