2018 International Conference on Material Strength and Applied Mechanics (MSAM 2018)
Invited Speaker----Dr. Itsuo Hanasaki

Associate Professor, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan

Dr. Itsuo Hanasaki is an associate professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT). He received Ph.D. in Engineering from Osaka University in March 2006. Then, he has experienced several positions, i.e., postdoctoral researcher at ASTEM from 2006 to 2007, Research fellow for Young Scientists (PD) of JSPS from 2007 to 2008, assistant professor at Kobe University from 2009 to 2012, assistant professor at Osaka University from 2012 to 2015, and he has been an associate professor of the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology from July 2015.

His work focuses on the new discipline of the applied mechanics based on the notion of (nonequilibrium) statistical mechanics and (nonlinear) dynamical systems. In particular, the applications of such unique link between the science and technology include the mechanics of flexible devices and printed electronics with novel techniques of data analysis. These applications also requires cross-disciplinary perspective where solid material is formed from fluid. Furthermore, the mesoscale between the atomistic and continuum is linked by the coarse-graining of the big data obtained from measurements as well as simulations.
