Invited Speaker----Dr. Yasutomo Uetsuji

Dr. Yasutomo Uetsuji is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Osaka Institute of Technology. He received his PhD from Osaka University. He became a lecturer in 2001, and promoted to an associate professor in 2004, a professor in 2016. Additionally, he became a visiting researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) in 2009. His research interests include the design, analysis and development of composite materials, functional materials with piezoelectric, piezomangetic and magnetoelectric effects, through theoretical, numerical and experimental approaches. The emphasis is on multiscale analyses based on quantum and continuum mechanics. He has received several kinds of awards from academic societies such as Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), Society of Materials Science, Japan (JSMS), and Texitle Machinery Society of Japan (TMSJ).
