Invited Speaker----Dr. Denis Benasciutti
Associate professor, Department of Engineering, University of Ferrara, Italy
Denis Benasciutti is Associate Professor in Machine Design at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara (Italy). He graduated in Materials Engineering in 2001 and received a PhD in Civil and Industrial Engineering in 2005. After having attended a Master in Welding Engineering held by the Italian Institute of Welding (IIS), he certified as European/International Welding Engineer (EWE/IWE) in 2006. From 2006 to 2015 he has been Assistant Professor at the University of Udine (Italy), where he has been teaching Machine Design. At present, at the University of Ferrara he is lecturer in Mechanical Drawing and Computer Assisted Design of Mechanical Structures.
He is author or co-author of over 100 scientific articles (half of which indexed in Scopus) published in international journals or proceedings of national/international congresses. He is also author of a book entitled “Fatigue analysis of random loadings. A frequency-domain approach” (LAP Lambert Academic Publishing, 2012).
His main research interests are:
- structural durability of mechanical components subjected to variable amplitude and stochastic uniaxial or multiaxial loadings;
- cyclic plasticity models and finite element analysis of thermo-mechanically loaded components;
- design of piezoelectric devices for vibration "energy harvesting".
