Invited Speaker----Dr. Olga Kresse
Principal Engineer, Mechanics and Modeling Group, USA
Dr. Olga Kresse is a principal engineer in the Mechanics and Modeling group in Schlumberger, Sugar Land, Texas, USA. She has PhD in Mechanics of Deformable Solids from Kiev Taras Shevchenko State University, Ukraine (1992), and second PhD in Fracture Mechanics from the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota, USA (2002). Originally her research interests included wave dynamics and vibrations in elastic solids, fracture mechanics and dislocation theory. Recently her work is related to hydraulic fracturing. She has authored more than 40 external publications in international journals, and she received a 2013 E&P Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation for her leading role in developing the Schlumberger Mangrove reservoir-centric stimulation design software.
Currently, Dr. Kresse’s main research interests are hydraulic fracturing, fracture modeling, fracture initiation and propagation, fluid and rock mechanics, and numerical modeling.
